You’ve probably heard the news that DC’s Gotham Academy and BOOM! Studios’ Lumberjanes are crossing over this summer. Karl Kerschl may be gone from Gotham Academy, but his work still comes to mind anytime I see the Gotham Academy title. So, today, let’s take a look at something awesome Karl has created.
A test image I did of The Flash before starting work on Flash: Fastest Man Alive #3. This is also the first time I worked with inker Serge LaPointe and colourist Stephane Peru (the art team on Teen Titans: Year One).
I still like this image, but I’m not sure why I drew Flash’s ear thingies so long. They’re kind of baroque.
This. This is the work that made me love Kerschl’s work, and made me anxious every time a new issue of The Flash came out without Karl’s art on the inside. Though I love Humberto Ramos on Impulse, I really love everything Kerschl does with The Flash.
