Crazy theory time!
I just re-listened to episode 164, following the epic animation of Flailingwing, and Torq speaks of the legend/myth of Sekhar as told by his aunt Tilly (starts at minute 44).
An Orcus like evil orc entity, that sets it enemies on fire and reanimates their fiery corpses to do his bidding.
My crazy theory is as follows, Torq did not die at the end of his travels with the Ogba, at the end of life rather then pass on, his drive to protect his friends allowed him to become myth himself and he became a benevolent version of the Sekhar of his childhood.
It’s probably quite wrong, but by all the Gods of DnD it’s my headcanon now :-)
P.S. I wonder how long before the gang takes over the city from the current invaders because it’s the only way to have access to the power source, it should be possible since it seems magic is not really a thing in this new realm.
I love how Orem keeps coming up with explanations on where they’re from that are only maybe slightly less weird than the real story.
Hahahaha, Mr. Schleicher, your opening intros are growing more and more creative and amusing XD thank you for putting in that extra effort to make these more entertaining to listen to! And your lowering of your voice to represent Orem’s, er, ‘thicker’ state was great. I could really feel that extra beefiness coming through the mic! :P
I really enjoyed this episode; I think we’re starting to feel the dynamics of the party a little more, and visiting this whole new world is fun – stars and sieges and all. The moment Orem pulled out a ruby to the innkeeper was possibly one of my favourite moments in the episode!
Gotta love Beefcake Orem! I can’t wait to see what the next universe has in store for him. Great descriptions and role-playing by Stephen in all of Orem’s forms.
I read today in the 5E monster manual that Kenku can perfectly imitate any sound they hear. Is that also true in the Rodrigoverse? That would be something cool that Sam could use.
Love how they jumped with the same compass setting, that is if it is a compass, the party did not even check to see if that was the case. This way we will get to see all of Rodriego’s universes!
These intros are great.
The flat orem theory :)
