Dice Masters has really captured our fun time at the Major Spoilers HQ, and now it looks like our battles are about to get a bit more epic as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles get in on the action.
WizKids has announced that it has licensed the TMNT line for Dice Master products that are scheduled to arrive in January 2016. As with the DC Comics: Justice League, and Marvel Age of Ultron sets that have released over the last couple of months, the TMNT Dice Masters will launch with the Box Set that includes everything you need for a two player basic game. That set will set you back $35.99.
The Team Box is a plastic box with a magnetic latch to store dice and cards. The Team Box will also include four turtle and a Splinter card when you fork over $19.99.
If you are going to play the game, you will definitely want a playmat to help you organize your game play. The 24-inch by 13-inch matt has an MSRP of $19.99.
Finally, there will be Dice Bags – something I haven’t seen before in the Dice Masters line – five colors for each of the main TMNT characters that will sell for $14.99 per bag.
What is missing from this announcement so far is a collectors box, which includes everything one player needs to get started (action cards, basic dice, four booster packs, and an exclusive card), but perhaps with the number of main characters, the collectors box is being passed over in favor of the dice bags.
While we wait for January, the DC Comics: Dice Masters – War of Light arrives in September, while Marvel: The Amazing Spider-Man arrives in November.
How popular is this series? The first Dice Masters World Champion was awarded last week, and from the early talk in the Nerdtacular feed, the game looks to be something everyone will be checking out this week at the Frogpants Event.
