Fox has announced it is renewing Gotham for a second season.
The announcement was made yesterday during the Television Critics Association press tour. This really shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, as Gotham has been killing it in the ratings over the last several months.
The show has to date averaged 10.6 million viewers and 4.2 rating in adults 18-49 in Nielsen’s live-plus-7 ratings.
Though the show has been hit or miss for me, the last four episodes of the Fall run were really good, and has me paying more attention to the show than I was in October.

Hmmm, surprised this is getting a definite pickup while Constantine hasn’t. Not that I think Gotham is BAD, it just hasn’t caught my attention the same as Constantine or Flash.
People may have become burned out on supernatural type TV shows.
Also; Batman.
As long as Gotham keeps getting better but stays just as weird, I’ll keep watching.. dammit, I really wanted to skip this one.
There’s too much on! Too much!
Wouldn’t surprise me as there have been I don’t know how many supernatural themed series running almost non-stop over the past couple of decades. I’ll even admit that between Buffy, Angel, Supernatural and Lost Girl, I’m a tad burnt out myself. Still a shame, though, as I thought Constantine was an interesting take on the genre.
I’ll have to take your word on Gotham for now. I saw the first three episodes and wasn’t pulled in, but once I can watch the full first season in a marathon viewing (DVD, on demand, etc), that could change. I had a similar experience with Arrow, wasn’t really drawn in until season 2.
