2014 seems to be the year for Harrison Ford to return to portray some of his iconic characters once again as the actor has been offered a role in the Blade Runner sequel.
Alcon Entertainment has reached out to Harrison Ford and offered the actor to return to his role as Rick Deckard in a sequel that is trying to put the full team back together. Original Blade Runner director Ridley Scott is already on to direct the film. Co-writer of the classic sci-fi film, Hampton Fancher, will be co-writing once again along with Michael Green.
The script that Fancher and Green have been writing together for over a year is being kept secret, but we do know that the film will take place several decades after the original. Which, if they are offering the role of Deckard back to Ford, is what we would have to expect anyhow.
My only concern about Ford playing Deckard is if the film is centered around him once again, how action filled can the film hope to be? Ridley Scott and the writing team may not take the story in that direction as they have a few different options depending on which ending viewers of the original choose to believe.
I loved the world that Scott built with the 1982 film, and all the other aspects of the film for that matter, so I’m incredibly intrigued about what will come of this sequel and eagerly anticipate seeing the first bits of footage in the coming year.
What are you thoughts about the possibility of Ford coming back as Deckard in the sequel? Let me know them in the comments below.

As much as I love Blade Runner, I no longer have any faith in Ridley Scott since watching Prometheus. Was there a sequel for the book?
Not that I am aware of.
There’s actually 3 books that follow after Blade Runner. The Edge of Human, Replicant Night, and Eye and Talon.
