The trailer is fun and bright and evocative of the original video game. However, eagle-egged viewers will not be able to spot much new by way of details. You’ll be stuck waiting for next month’s release to get the full story of what Mario (Chris Pratt), Luigi (Charlie Day), and Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy), are getting up to in their big screen debut.
Other cast members include: Jack Black (Bowser), Keegan-Michael Key (Toad), and more!
Super Mario Bros debuts worldwide from Universal Pictures on April 5th, 2023 …
… and begs the question – can Mario unseat the Sonic franchise as the “best video game movie ever”? I’d love to read Spoilerites’ predictions down in the replies!

Punisher to Appear in Daredevil: Born Again
Remember when Rosario Dawson said this at C2E2 last year?
Is the Punisher making his MCU return soon? Jon Bernthal’s co-star Rosario Dawson says so
During her spotlight panel on Sunday at C2E2 in Chicago, Rosario Dawson told fans that she had just heard that The Punisher was coming back, and that she was thrilled. “I found out yesterday that the Punisher was happening again, so I feel like it’s my second chance.” she said.
I certainly do!
When earlier this week The Hollywood Reporter shared that actor Jon Bernthal would be reprising his role as Frank Castle in the upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, social media immediately exploded. When it came out a few minutes later than Deborah Ann Woll (Karen), and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), would not be returning to the new Daredevil series social media exploded again.
Often the most expensive aspect of any television show is the cast. Returning cast makes more money every time. Especially if they have good agents and managers. Compared to when Bernthal and Charlie Cox (Daredevil), debuted on Netflix they cost a lot more now. There’s a good chance the option to have other character like Karen and Foggy return more difficult.
(ironically, given the clip above, there has been no update about whether or not Rosario Dawson’s Night Nurse will appear in Daredevil: Born Again)
Additionally, it has been so long since Daredevil was in active production there’s a good chance both Woll and Henson have projects which conflict with shooting dates (slated to begin next week). Personally, I feel this type of context helps me be less upset when characters, actors, writers, directors I admire leave the projects I love seeing them most in,
The inclusion of Bernthal to Daredevil: Born Again raises the question of ratings. How dark with Disney+ go? Both the Daredevil and Punisher series on Netflix were tonally dark and violent. It seems unlikely Disney will want to adopt this same harsh view of their superhero universe.
No details yet on when we’ll see Daredevil: Born Again.
