    Major Spoilers Question of the Day: Fury or Archer Edition

    They have a lot in common: Both international men of mystery, two-fisted drinkers, and quick with a gun, but Nick Fury and Sterling Archer are also very different men.  Fury takes his spycraft dead seriously, while Archer likes to shut off his brain with enough gin to kill a yak before hitting the field.  They’re both heroic, in their own weird way, and they both have a ridiculously high body count that isn’t ENTIRELY their fault, leading to today’s serious-versus-parodic query…

    The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) reminds Faithful Spoilerites that, in the lack of meaningful context, you may bring your own to the show, so go nuts, asking: Fury or Archer?

    Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now...       Archer’s a little too mean-spirited for my tastes, and though Steranko the man is ehhhhh…..problematic, his art and design for Nick Fury was unparalleled. Gonzo visuals and innuendo alone (gun in holster, eh?), i gotta give it to Nick Fury. Also Fury accomplishes more with one eye than Archer does with two.
