For long time video game fans Knuckles was conspicuously absent from the initial installment. From anyone who saw the first movie I want thoughts & reactions in the comments section!
MCU Sends Off Chadwick Boseman
On Wednesday Disney+ released their latest original Marvel Studios series dropping weekly – What If …? (if you listen to this week’s Major Spoilers Podcast episode I review the pilot episode!). Captain Carter makes a stunning debut.
Fans who have been following the development of the series for a while know What If …? also contains Chadwick Boseman’s last performance – and, thereby, his last turn in the role of T’Challa. Albeit, this is an alternate universe T’Challa, but the last time we’ll see Boseman taking up the mantle of superhero.
Bryan Andrews directs the series and spoke to The Hollywood Reporter this week about doing the man and the role justice:
[Chadwick] really enjoyed the idea of being able to play this slightly different version of T’Challa. The events are so extremely different, but the galaxy doesn’t change T’Challa; T’Challa changes the galaxy. There are a few more times where he pops up briefly in a couple other episodes, so we were able to record with him a little bit during the pandemic. Those records were over Zoom calls, and in the last record, when we were done, I, selfishly, was able to tell him how much I personally thought of him… He touched his heart and he was very thankful, but we had no idea he was going through what he was going through.
Having been lucky enough to see and early screener of Boseman’s episode, it’s a lovely sendoff. I can’t wait for the rest of the world to see it.
