As an older nerd (though, these days, the average comic book reader isn’t anywhere close to a child), I remember 1994 and the debut of Ben Reilly, the Spectacular Spider-Clone and his makeshift uniform with the blue hoodie top. I recall there being a lot of whining about it in those dawning days of Internet fandom, and I have to admit that I was skeptical myself. With that costume’s 21st century return, though, I’m 100% sold on it, and admit that I was wrong: The Scarlet Spider uniform was ahead of its time and fits perfectly in modern costuming trends, leading to today’s haute couture query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) may be swayed a bit by the fact that almost every other Scarlet Spider suit was just awful, asking: Scarlet Spider’s Hoodie Uniform: Tres Chic or Truly Blech?

I used to hate the scarlet spider suit (Spider Clone and electric twins Superman were the two things that kinda put me off comics for several years), but now i sorta made peace with it. It’s a janky homemade reverse mirror image of the OG Spidey suit, where the majority of the torso and head are blue, and the arms and legs are mostly red.
The only thing that still pisses me off about it are the little ankle pouches. I know Peter/Ben/Kaine/whoever has spider agility and flexibility, but how are you reloading your web shooters from your ankles? Cmon….
I have started to appreciate it over time. Miles did it better tho.
It has it’s place, like Dazzler’s roller skates or her headband, but really I could totally leave it behind.
