Marvel has announced it will adapt Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker for comic book fans. This should come as no surprise, as it has adapted the previous two films in the third trilogy line.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be written by Jody Houser, with art from Will Sliney. While a direct adaptation might not hit you over the head, Marvel has stated the five-issue mini-series will include brand-new story material.
“As a lifelong Star Wars fan, it was an honor to be asked to be a part of wrapping up the Skywalker saga with Marvel Comics,” Houser said in a press release from Marvel Comics. “We have some fun plans to add scenes and material that weren’t seen in the movie.”
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker #1 arrives in June 2020.
