When I was younger, the newness of ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ sparked tons of debate about whether Kirk was superior to Jean-Luc Picard, a phenomenon that keeps repeating with each new Trek Captain. Is Janeway better than Sisko? Is Archer better than Lorca? Does Chris Pine as James Kirk make anybody else really uncomfortable? Of course, this is the MS-QOTD, so we don’t go for the obvious, leading to today’s four-stripe query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) warns Spoilerites not to judge too quickly, because finding true love and seeing the beautiful ports of call in South America is much better than getting annihilated by the Borg, frozen by Q or thrown out an airlock, asking: How to solve the Captain Conundrum: Steubing or Picard?

Tough choice, but Picard is always my #1.
Steubing. He has a 100% track record towards problems resolved on his watch. Also, no one ever died under his command.
Picard, he’s up there, but not 100%.
