Even now that I’m old and able to afford the schmancy sammich toppings, there’s something comforting about a nice peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It’s a bummer that nobody in my family likes the crunchy peanut butter I prefer on my PB and J, but at least we have a wide variety of jelly, from grape to strawberry to orange marmalade and even a weird onion jam that my brother-in-law bought us for the holidays once. For my money, you can’t beat a strawberry jelly, but I appreciate the tangy appeal of grape, leading us to today’s Mason jar query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) prefers a slice of cheddar cheese, personally, but most people look at me funny, asking: What do you want on your PB and J: Grape, strawberry or none of the above?

I’ll take pretty much any, as long as it’s fruit sweetened rather than sugar sweetened. Barring that, I’d prefer one that has recognizable bits of fruit, so strawberry jam.
Oh, and my sympathies for living with creamy PB heathens.
No Jelly, but I’d try some cheese on mine, now that you’ve mentioned it. PB & Cheese works on crackers, no reason it can’t work on a sammich.
Grape. PB on top when eating. Smooth only. Chunky is for barbarians.
I don’t think I’ve ever had peanut butter in my fridge. Jelly is for pancakes.
Pretty much ant kind of jelly though I prefer grape or strawberry depending on my mood. Bananas are also amazing on a pb and j
Raspberry or strawberry preserves. Mmmmmm
My preference is grape, but I’ll use what ever is in the fridge. Yesterday, it was blueberry preserves.
