When ya spend as much time as I do talking about, reading and researching the history of comic books and superheroes, you find a lot of one-off weirdos. Characters who never stuck are the bulk of the comic book game, but what’s even more saddening are the failed super-teams, legions of super-types and the occasional failed fantastic foursome. I’m still a little bummed that there weren’t more issues of Avant Guard or the AC Comics take on Charlton’s Action heroes, originally published for a hot second as the Sentinels of Justice. Heck, even the second take on the SoJ is a forgotten road sign on the freeway of funnybook history, leading to today’s team-up query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) reminds Faithful Spoilerites that we’re going for versimilitude, drama and team balance, not just raw power, asking: What four superhuman characters from any era, universe or medium would you combine for the most amazing Fantastic Foursome?
