Though it was arguably the most popular show in the world for several years, ‘F∙R∙I∙E∙N∙D∙S’ has not aged well. Aside from much of the humor now being so ingrained into the Generation X mindset that it’s not funny anymore, there are some really problematic aspects to the show when viewed under a modern pop culture microscope. The biggest problem is that they’re all pretty terrible people, making it tough to decide who is the most insufferable Friend. Is is Joey, who is clearly faking stupidity to get his friends to cover all his responsibilities? Pheobe, who is weirdly judgmental about everything? Self-absorbed Rachel? Self-pitying Ross? Whatever the heck Chandler is supposed to be? I don’t know about you, but it’s hard to view Monica without wondering if she’s dealing with serious emotional problems or just substance abuse, leading to today’s *clapclapclapclap* query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) doesn’t usually do this joke format, but liked the show better the first time, when it was called ‘Living Single’, asking: Which of the iconic terrible 90s characters of ‘F∙R∙I∙E∙N∙D∙S’ is the MOST insufferable Friend?

A tie between both Gellers. I liked Phoebe, Joey and Chandler, and even Rachel had some redeeming qualities. Couldn’t stand Ross or Monica. They are both decent actors I’ve enjoyed in other works, I just outright couldn’t stand their characters in this show.
Rachel. She was selfish and insufferable from the get go. They tried to mellow her out and have her grow over the years, but she was really still just a bitch.
