Created with the other Next Men as part of a government experiment to create superhumans (which, now that I think of it, has become nearly as much of a cliché as “secret magic maguffin” was in the 1940s), Jack and his friends had a hard transition from their simulated world to reality. Unable to control his strength, Jack worried about hurting others, and when he discovered religion, gave up his wandering ways, settling in to become a devout Catholic and eschewing his super-strength entirely…
