9) “WHAT IF JESSICA JONES HAD JOINED THE AVENGERS?”

In the mainstream Marvel Universe, Jessica Jones’ career as Jewel ended tragically, with Jessica dropping out of super-society entirely.  On alternate Earth-523002, though, she accepted an offer to serve as The Avengers liaison to SHIELD, a decision which not only saved her from several years of alcoholism, isolation and self-loathing, but actually kept the events of ‘Avengers: Disassembled’ (wherein the team crumbled thanks to a number of factors, including The Scarlet Witch’s loss of sanity) from happening.  It’s a nice little tale, albeit one that makes it clear that writer Brian Bendis absolutely adores his creation, Miss Jones enough to believe her to be the lynchpin of Avengers history.
