ComiXology, Amazon’s premier digital comic shopping and reading service, revealed their 2017 Comic-Con International exclusive promotional giveaway today: Series 3 of the Comic Book All Stars collectible trading cards. Each card spotlights a fan-favorite comic book creator including Eisner Award-winning colorist Jordie Bellaire, Emmy Award-winning writer Paul Dini, acclaimed cartoonists Emil Ferris and Sonny Liew, Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, Bone creator Jeff Smith, This One Summer writer Mariko Tamaki, cover artist Kevin Wada and more, as well as two cards highlighting the creative teams behind the comiXology Originals titles Valiant High and this fall’s Marley’s Ghost. Comic-Con International takes place in San Diego, California from July 19th – 23rd with comiXology at booth #2547.
Series 3 introduces the first ever “Heavy Hitters” cards curated by Kevin Smith, IMDb’s Comic-Con International host. These cards feature Kevin’s top six picks of the comic book industry’s most accomplished and continuously watched talent including artist Jim Lee, writer Geoff Johns, artist Becky Cloonan, colorist Laura Allred, artist Emma Ríos, and cartoonist Bruce Timm. All 35 cards, which will be given away at comiXology’s panels and booth #2547 during Comic-Con International, include fun facts about the creators.

Kevin Smith will host a Comic Book Movie Trivia panel, produced by IMDb and comiXology, at Comic-Con International. The panel will be moderated by Kevin Smith and will feature a panel of pop culture expert contestants including Fatman on Batman’s Marc Bernardin and Julie and Shawna Benson, writers of The CW’s The 100 and DC Comics’ Batgirl and the Birds of Prey. Col Needham, IMDb Founder and CEO, and comiXology CEO David Steinberger will judge the panel. The panel is scheduled for Thursday, July 20th from 5:30-6:30 PM in room 6A at The San Diego Convention Center. Full packs of All Star Trading Cards, including “Kevin Smith’s Heavy Hitters,” will be given out at the panel.

Comic-Con International takes place in San Diego, California July 19th – 23rd at the San Diego Convention Center with comiXology exhibiting at booth #2547. ComiXology will be hosting eleven panels at this year’s convention and during every panel a limited supply of trading cards and Kindle Fire HD devices will be given out to lucky attendees.
Comic Book All Stars collectible trading cards were made popular with Comic Book All Stars Series 1, a set of 26 cards that were given away in July 2016 at Comic-Con International in San Diego and Series 2, a set of 31 cards were given away in October 2016 at New York Comic Con.
The Comic Book All Stars collectible trading cards will also be available at designated times during the convention at the comiXology booth #2547. The company will be announcing many creator card signings, the full list of panels, and card drops via comiXology’s social media and Tumblr closer to the convention.
