One of the seemingly immutable laws of live action adaptations seems to be that, most of the time, our favorite four-color heroes end up wearing black leather. The colorful blue and gold X-Men costumes were translated into padded motorcycle uniforms, and even Superman’s colorful suit became a live-action costume featuring muted dark shades on leathery fabric. Still, the new movie Spider-Man costume is remarkably true to the comics, giving me at least some hope and leading to today’s tonsorial query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) is also very impressed with the television Supergirl costume, which balances the classical costume elements with the reality of having an actual woman in the suit, asking: What live-action costume best represents its comic-style counterpart?

I don’t know about best, but I remember before first captain America movie when people were saying “There’s no way that blue, red and white costume will be done with live actor movie”. Well, they did just that and it works perfectly. I guess people were still too used to black leather then.

I think the wonder woman movie costume looks pretty good.
