The Internet was all abuzz yesterday over news that Dwayne Johnson would be playing Black Adam in a solo movie.
Here is what we know so far:
- New Line Cinema and DC Entertainment have decided to expand the Shazam property with a second film.
That’s it. No release date, no producers or writers have been attached, only that Johnson has been signed to play Black Adam in a second film.
Want to know a secret? When Johnson signed on to play Black Adam way back in 2014, I’m certain the contract was for a minimum of three films. That’s the part no one is telling you. So, when the third film is (finally) announced, it will seem like a fresh news cycle for a film franchise that was announced three years ago, is scheduled to arrive in two more years, and has yet to announce anyone else but Johnson, Bill Birch as the writer, and a slew of producers.

Hmm Black Adam is at his best a mass murdering anti-hero… I mean his most notable story is the takeover of “Kahndaq” or whatever not-Iraq is called in the dcu.
The guy most like to rip a guy’s arm off and beat him to death with the wet end and WB/DC want a movie with that guy… Wait What Am i saying this is the grimdark movie company… of course Black Adam is perfect!!!!! so edgy and dark.
