6) THE DEFENDERS JUST WANT ORDER
Cursed by Gaea, the embodiment of planet Earth to work as a team, the founding members of The Defenders decided that the best way to protect people was to protect them from themselves. Thanks in part to the mind control of Yandroth, Doctor Strange, The Silver Surfer, Namor and The Hulk set out to conquer the world, thus keeping it safe from the various goobers who might destroy it. Given their incredible powers, it almost worked.
And if you ignore the old adage about absolute power, the plan looks good on paper.
