[NYCC’15] Lone Wolf and Cub to get a reimagining at Dark Horse Comics

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherOctober 9, 20151 Comment2 Mins Read

Are you ready for Kazuo Koike’s Lone Wolf and Cub to get a futuristic reimagining? It’s happening next year at Dark Horse Comics.

Titled Lone Wolf 2100, Dark Horse Comics has hired writer Eric Heisserer and artist Miguel Sepulveda to bring the idea to life.

It’s a genuine privilege to get to write for a title as iconic as Lone Wolf and Cub, and the 2100 setting allows me an opportunity to tell a fresh iteration of this story,” said Heisserer in a prepared statement. “The best science fiction holds up a mirror to contemporary society and exaggerates all its flaws (but also its beauty). That’s what I aspire to do with the ideas behind Lone Wolf 2100.”

So what can we expect from this four-issue mini-series? Dark Horse shared the solicitation information with the press earlier this morning.

A devastating manmade plague is turning the human race into cannibalistic monsters known as the Thrall. But there is hope: young Daisy Ogami’s blood holds the secret to a cure—if Itto, her android protector, can get her to a place where it can be extracted!

    I don’t know what to say…

There´s already been one futuristic re imagining of Lone Wolf and it wasn´t great. From what I can see, don´t expect this to be any better. How about an actual, well made authentic samurai drama instead of sixth billionth zombie book?
