Major Spoilers Question Of The Day: Best Batmobile Edition

Matthew PetersonBy Matthew PetersonOctober 9, 20155 Comments1 Min Read

The Gosh-darn Batman has had a lot of different vehicles in his career, befitting a multi-millionaire with an unending grudge on evil.  Of them all, the most recognizable is probably the George Barris-designed Batmobile from the 1966 TV show, the vehicle that defined the Bat’s wheels for several generations of readers and viewers.  But, over the years, that car has evolved and changed based on the whim of the writers and artists, leaving us with a vast array of Batmobiles (many of which are shown here, thanks to Major Spoilers intrepid EIC and Bat-fan supreme, Stephen) leading to today’s high-octane query…

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) doesn’t usually like to skew the vote this way, but hates that damnable Tumbler with a passion, asking: Which of all of Batman’s various rides is the BEST Batmobile of all?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

I’m very fond to the B:TAS incarnation of the Batmobile. It reminds me of a cross between an antique luxury car and a tank.

I really like the lines of that one, yeah. Long and sleek, like a missile…
