IT’S NEW COMIC BOOK DAY!
But what to read?
The staff at Major Spoilers offers up its list of books they are looking forward to, and recommend you do, too!
1872 #1
Writer: Gerry Duggan
Artist: Nicole Virella
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: REAL HEROES DIE WITH THEIR BOOTS ON
• SHERIFF STEVE ROGERS faces corruption and fear in the boom town of TIMELY.
• The only thing ANTHONY STARK seems capable of is pulling a cork, so can he pull Rogers’ fat from the fire?
• But…a stranger comes to town that will change Timely forever…for anyone left standing, that is.
GEORGE: It’s an idea that’s either very clever or very dumb, but so was 1602, and that turned out okay. Plus Gerry Duggan has earned a lot of goodwill from me for his excellent work on Deadpool, and I love the fact that the town is called Timely… and I’m feeling cautiously optimistic about Old West Marvel shenanigans.
STEPHEN: I loved the tease we got in Age of Ultron vs Marvel Zombies, and I want to see how Marvel tells this alternate time tale of our favorite Marvel characters. I hope it is so good it is a series that continues past SWA.
