Elektra was hinted at in the first season of Marvel’s Daredevil, and with the Punisher appearing in the next season, it was only a matter of time before more characters from the series would appear. We’ve now learned that Elodie Yung will play Elektra next season.
If you have seen G.I. Joe: Retaliation, or District 13: Ultimatum, you know Elodie Yung.
“After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity,” said Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”
This definitely makes for an interesting lineup for the next season, which is currently shooting in New York City. We don’t know the release date for Daredevil Season Two, but I’m going to put my money on April 2016.

Such a phenomenal first season, I hope they’re not trying to do too much with a fuller cast. It was already pretty busy in S1 with the four “main” characters, and Rosario Dawson’s character thrown in for extra. We’ll see – and I didn’t find Yung to be too compelling an actress in “Retaliation” so let’s see what her chops are. The first season of Daredevil was solid with the acting and script.
