Warner Bros. has announced the release dates for the next three LEGO movies that will take the franchise through 2018.
- The Batman LEGO movie is scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 10, 2017
- Ninjago has been moved from fall 2016 to September 22, 2017
- The LEGO Movie Sequel is now scheduled for May 18, 2018
“We are very excited about dating our upcoming LEGO animated features, which already have a worldwide fan following, built on the foundation of the first film,” said Dan Fellman, president of domestic distribution at Warner Bros. “These three films already in the pipeline are just the beginning of a creative and diverse animation slate that will be delighting audiences for years to come.”
Three LEGO movies in two years seems like a bit much, but if it gets kids into theaters – something that is a big concern for movie theater companies – then I say go for it.
