In terms of movie and television adaptations, there’s never been a better time to be a comics fan. With literally dozens of adaptations in the pipeline, an amazing Avengers franchise, the promise of the Justice League, plus Arrow, Flash, Constantine and even (ugh) Gotham having strong seasons, there are a lot of great options out there for those who want to see the four-color fave-raves on screens big and small. Of course, that doesn’t mean we can’t hope for even more, as I did this week when challenged to cast my dream Teen Titans live-action show circa 1994 or so. (Seriously, you should follow the Major Spoilers crew on social media, as we’re delightful and good at filling an empty hour with… something or other.) Brevity may be the soul of wit, but the heart of fandom is unbridled hope (and occasionally a fair helping of sarcastic hatred, but that’s not important right now) leading us to today’s theoretical query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) thinks that Neve Campbell was *born* to play Raven, and has thought so for 20 years or more, asking: What live-action comics (and not necessarily superhero comics) adaptation would you most like to see next?

If handled by the right creative team, I’d love to see Plastic Man as a comedy/crime drama in a similar vein as “Castle”.
I think Blade of the Immortal manga would make great (and gory) movie series if done right and with decent budget. It has great antiheroes and memorable villains, could be the one that revives chanbara films. Pick a good star and play it completely straight, theres your modern day Toshiro Mifune. Please dont ever give it to any hollywood studio either.
The Invisibles or Promethea as HBO type shows?
Legion Of Superheroes as a series of film… he said with some trepidation.
I’m not sure who I’d trust with the property…
Deadpool.
I know they are in talks about it now, but it really should have been made already.
It’s moved beyond talks – It is happening.
Goodie! Time to warm up some chimichangas.
Is that Ashley Williams (Victoria) being suggested for Starfire?
Yep. Circa her ‘As The World Turns’ stint in 1994 or so?
Matthew and I disscussed/argued over this. He has to have his crush in there. Another reason to follow us on social media, plus, I like the attention and need all the friends I can get.
Ashley is not my casting choice for Starfire because she’s my favorite actress. It’s because her facial features strongly resemble Starfire as drawn by George Perez…
I can’t believe Atomic Robo and The Sixth Gun haven’t been mentioned yet.
Revival, Rachel Rising, Echo, Locke & Key, Fatale…..
