Dark Horse Comics will kick off the show with a special retailer meet-and-greet reception on Wednesday, February 18, allowing retailers to converse and mingle with Dark Horse staff, as well as local and out-of-town talent.
The following morning, Thursday, February 19, Platinum sponsor Dark Horse will feature highlights from its 2015 publishing line in its keynote as well as present the attending creators.
Additionally, Dark Horse will sponsor a store visit and lunch with award-winning comics retailer Things From Another World on February 21.
“We’re very happy to be hosting ComicsPRO in Portland for the first time ever. This is going to be a very big year for us, and we’re bringing out some excellent talent to showcase our top-notch publishing line,” said Mike Richardson, president of Dark Horse Comics. “As a Platinum sponsor of this fantastic program which strengthens retailer and publisher relations, Dark Horse is pulling out all the stops to show how it’s done in the Rose City.”
The ComicsPRO Annual Membership Meeting is the only annual retailer-driven event in the industry, often cited as the most important business-focused event of the year. ComicsPRO is a nonprofit trade association dedicated to the health and progress of direct-market comic book retailers.
All comic book retailers with storefront locations are invited to the conference. Every attending retailer will be presented with a gift bag including graphic novels, toys, promotional items, and comics. Dark Horse has created exclusive comics, posters, ashcans, and other items for ComicsPRO, many with very low print runs.
Roundtable sessions taking place on Friday, February 20, give each of the participating vendors face-to-face time with each attending retailer in a small group setting.
For more information on attending the conference as a retailer or sponsoring the conference as a publisher or vendor, please contact Marco Davanzo, executive director of ComicsPRO, at marco@comicspro.org. Information can also be found at www.comicspro.org/meet15.
