Even as one who is not kept up with Doctor Who, I’m extremely interested to see what the reaction is like now that a new actor is portraying the Doctor, especially one that is significantly older than the last iteration on screen.
What did you think of this trailer? Do you have high hopes for Capaldi? Does this make you want to watch an episode of Doctor Who if you haven’t before? Give all your thoughts in the comments below!

As someone who grew up with the old series, I will say that I’m actually quite ecstatic to once more have an older Doctor. And while I am a bit iffy about the actor being someone who has already played not one but TWO roles in the Doctor Who universe (one in Doctor Who, one in Torchwood: Children of Earth), I think he’s a decent choice from what I’ve seen of him. I’m still reserving my judgement until about 4 to 6 episodes in, as I usually do when a new Doctor comes along, but so far I’m cautiously optimistic from what I’ve seen so far.
