While neither of Sherlock’s two stars, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, were able to make it to San Diego this weekend, they did send in videos to be played before the panel. That video, and some of the questions from the panel will be up after the jump.

Benedict Cumberbatch is quite the character, and according to Stevan Moffat the part with the stuffed monkeys was Benedict actually explaining what happened, darn signal.
Other statements include the return of Andrew Scott as Moriarty, but only in flashbacks. According to Mark Gatiss, “He shot himself through the brainstem; you don’t come back from that.” The fan speculation is mostly due to the censorship required on BBC not allowing Moriarty’s full damage to be shown.
A fourth season has been confirmed but with no date as to when production will even start as season three starts the final episode later this month.
The first two episodes of season three are named ““The Empty Hearse” and “The Sign of Three.” The latter of the two deals with Watson getting married. “Hot off the press, 110 years ago, John Watson does get married,” Moffat said.
The series returns to television in both the UK and the US in November.
