I define a crush as admiration and attraction to someone you know is just wonderful, but you can also never have…In this case a celebrity you find adorable, lovable and someone you think you could actually enjoy spending time with as opposed to raw, animal lust, which is a different list altogether (with some possible crossover…cuz, ya know).
5. Dianne Wiest – Character actress who played the Mom in The Lost Boys, and Parenthood, and a 1000 other things. She alway’s plays very nice, very sweet characters, and I am always drawn to her whenever I see her.
4. Audrey Hepburn – I suppose she could be considered the Ur-Manic Pixie Dreamgirl. Adorable. I can watch her in ‘How to Steal a Million’ every day and fall in love with that character every single time. Her face is so expressive, she makes you feel every emotion she displays.
3. Anna Faris – I love this actress. She’s a wonderful comedienne specializing in quasi-psychos who range from just a little, to COMPLETELY off their nut, often with a naive facade to lurk behind. Why I find this appealing is anyone’s guess, but I find her totally compelling. She’s made lot of terrible movies least watchable by her presence.
2. Brett Anderson aka Donna A from the Donnas. Slinging snotty, bratty in your face lyrics fronting an awesome all girl punk/metal band? What’s not to love?
1. Ginnifer Goodwin – from HBOs Big Love and ABC’s Once upon a Time. She has the killerest of killer smiles, and I’m a sucker for a nice smile. The face of an angel, Goodwin always plays very sweet, likeable characters. It’s like she was engineered in a lab somewhere to be my perfect crush bait. I even watched ‘He’s Not That Into You’ because she’s in it. True story.
Dianne Wiest is wonderful in everything…
Matthew, if you want a current fix of Diana Rigg, check her out as the utterly, not-to-be-effed with Queen of Thorns, Olenna Tyrell on Game of Thrones. Great portrayal of a great character.
I’m still leery of Game of Thrones, due to my fear of things that everyone keeps telling me are the greatest things ever.
What, no Grace Kelly?!?
#5-Sandra Bullock. I first saw her in Demolition Man, this was my first R rated movie as well. I then saw her in Speed and in 1995 I started seeing her in nearly everything she was in. She is pretty funny and also very attractive.
#4-Zooey Deschanel, same reasons that Zach gave, plus her and I share the same birthday on the same year as well.
#3-Anna Kendrick, same reasons Zach gave. Very attractive girl next door look. First movie I saw her in was Up In The Air, and she looks amazing at the tech conference party scene. Looked great in Scott Pilgrim, 50/50 and End of Watch.
#2-Emma Stone. Like Anna Kendrick, very girl next door look. Plus she is very funny. First movie I saw with her was Zombieland and I really fell in love with her in Easy A.
#1-Shirley Manson. Very attractive, great singing voice and one of her favorite movies of all time is Blade Runner, which is my #3. First time I saw her was in the black and white music video “Queer” from 1995. I was instantly hooked with the music and her look. I got the CD later that week and played the heck out of it. I had the opportunity to see Garbage live in Denver last October and I was maybe 10 feet from the stage, totally awesome.
Also-rans:
Jennifer Lawerance, really liked her in X-Men First Class and loved her in Silver Linings Playbook.
Linda Hamilton from 1991(Terminator 2, she was in terrific shape.)
Marina Sirtis, looked amazing in Star Trek TNG and still looks amazing at 58.
Mike/IceWarm
Still compiling my list, but a quick note for Matthew. I feel in love with Ashley way back in 2002 on a show called “Good Morning, Miami”. If you’ve never seen it, you have got to try to track it down…
Here we go:
5) Meg Foster – same reason Rodrigo went with Bette Davis – love those eyes!
4) Jennifer Tilly – funny, cute, and super sultry voice
3) Angelina Jolie – this has to be around the Lara Croft era before she started getting too skinny; I like the more athletic build
2) Mystique – this is my cheat so I can include Rebecca Romijn and Jennifer Lawrence (and Halle Berry…and Famke Janssen…etc.)
1) Tia Carrere – one word = Schwing!!!
5) Polly Perks – from the Discworld Book Monstrous Regiment, she cuts her hair, puts a pair of rolled up socks in her nickers and joins the army pretending to be a boy, only to discover that everyone else in her unit are also girls pretending to be boys.
4)Leela – played by Louise Jameson, this Doctor Who companion didn’t need to be saved and it amused me watching a woman from a hunter gatherer society in Victorian England
3) Emma Stone – I watched Easy A, I laughed, I cried and then I fell in love, amazing actress I could watch perform for hours.
2) Betty Boop – I was five years old and told my mother “I’m going to marry Betty Boop one day” I was the only boy who had Betty Boop tshirts and I currently have a cat called Betty.
1) Claudia Christian – Commander. Susan Ivanova from Babylon 5, this was my sexual awakening and still till this day I have a special place in my heart for her.
I’m sure plenty of people will read this and point out only two are actual people, well I don’t really pay much attention to actual people. There are several people I could of listed but one is a former porn star that I’m very good friends with and I have a feeling that saying Kate Middleton Duchess of Cambridge might be treason lol
Stacey Dash: (from Clueless) This woman doesn’t age. She looks exactly the same as she did in the 90s.
Danielle Fishel (Topanga): I think anyone who watched Boy meets World had a crush on Topanga
Jennifer Carpenter (Debra Morgan): Attractive woman + fool-mouth= best bud or on-off again girlfriend.
Thierry Henry: Thierry is a french soccer player. He use to play in England and is argueably one of the greatest player to play the game.
The reason I picked him is that this man came from slums of Paris and roses to become one of the best players of his generation and hes’ extremely down to earth.
The worst part is he played for the arch-rival of my favourite team.
Tina Fey: I’ll admit, at first I didn’t really notice her but as I learned more about her, from her book and 30rock, I’ve grown to really appreciate what she does.
She funny, clever and attractive. I just wish she was on tv more.
5- Ashley Green (Twilight)
4- Emma Stone (Easy A)
3- Kaley Cuoco (Big Bang)
2- Katherine Heigl (Grey Anatomy)
1- Kate Beckinsale (Underworld)
Dang! I just saw the new “Total Recall” and you can Kate to my list as well. Also throw in Milla Jovovich for “The Fifth Element”
Kudos to Matthew for the open definition of a “Crush” and Stephen/Zack for having guys on their lists – Well Done Those Men!
Well now I’m all hot and bothered! Seriously, I could easily make a Top 100 List, which would include a lot of redheads, but here is my Top 5 Celebrity Crushes with a brief explanation:
5. Rita Hayworth, might have ranked higher, but I recently read that she wasn’t a natural redhead!
4. Bettie Page, jumps ahead of Rita, not only because she’s kinky, but it turns out this raven haired beauty was actually a natural redhead.
3. Nicole Kidman, because she has a beauty that is in the “goddess” category.
2. Katy Perry, is a recent discovery. I absolutely cannot stop looking at her face!
1. Alyssa Milano, because she has that “girl next door” quality. She may not be as glamorous as the others on my list, but she is by far my biggest celebrity crush, and has been since I was a teen.
Some Also Rans: Lucy Lawless, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Salma Hayek, Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Christina Hendricks, Veronica Lake, Julia Roberts, Lady Gaga, Clara Bow, Ava Gardner, Emilia Clarke, Rose Leslie, Summer Glau, Gates McFadden, Shirley Manson, Amanda Palmer, Emilie Autumn, Stacy Ferguson, Marcia Cross, Amy Poehler, Sylvia Plath, Liv Tyler, and Audrey Hepburn. To be fair, I’d also include Johnny Depp, Antonio Banderas, Timothy Olyphant, and Patrick Stewart.
Thanks Top 5!
5. Robert Downey Jr. – I think he’d be the cool friend where every time you hang out with you have the greatest times ever.
4.Aisha Tyler – She is gorgeous, hilarious, and loves video games. She would be a blast.
3. Ziyi Zhang – First saw her in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and loved her. She just looks regal and majestic. I will watch a movie just because she stars in it.
2. Zooey Deschanel – Everything Zach said she is just so cute and funny,
1. Karen Gillan – She is the best part of Matt Smith’s Doctor Who and why I loved that run.. The companion who won’t take no crap and I love her accent. Suprised she wasn’t on Matthew’s list.
Also Rans
Stephen Colbert just think he’d make my laugh.
April O’Neil from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(Live Action) my earliest crush.
Emma Stone she is so pretty.
Famke Jensen loved her as Jean Grey
