Those who liked the 1968 sexy space flick Barbarella starring Jane Fonda may either jump up and down in joy, or anger on the announcement that a remake of the film is in the works.
Joe Gazzam is writing the script, with Robert Luketic signed to direct.
“Barbarella” centers on a female mercenary who roams the universe of a distant future, undertaking missions that require fearlessness, ingenuity and sensuality. The character debuted in 1962 in a French graphic magazine written and illustrated by Jean-Claude Forest and was known for her sexual escapades. There also was a musical produced in 2004.
Instead of being a campy adventure, the updated Barbarella is going to focus on more action.

Je suis excité.
Is Joe Gazzam related to the very excitabel Or?
1. Will a NEW New Wave British Pop Band name themselves after the villain?
2. Gill they at least try to remake the moaning scene in the giant organ?
As a yoot of 13 I never did get the full meaning there when I first saw it. All I new of was sex and simulated sex in the film and that was good enough at the time.
