TELEVISION: Sad news, everyone… Locke & Key gets passed over

I can not believe that the networks have passed on the television adaptation of Locke & Key.  The early word on the un-aired (and never to be seen) pilot was very good, but apparently someone higher up decided to give the series a pass, and that is really bad.  With Smallville going off the air, Locke & Key could have swooped in to grab the audience with an awesome series.

It shouldn’t come as any surprise that Fox passed on this series… that network hasn’t listened to fan for years.  This kind of news makes it easier and easier for me to give up on cable all together.

REVIEW: Locke & Key: Keys to the Kingdom #5

For the last several issues, the Locke children have been running around finding keys, and trying to cope with the drama that surrounds teenager’s lives. With only fourteen issues remaining in this fantastic series, when is something big going to happen?

Locke & Key finds director and star

According to Deadline, Fox television has hired Miranda Otto to play Nina Locke, the mother in the Locke & Key television adaptation.  Currently, Mark Romanek in talks to direct the pilot.

Locke & Key tells of Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion, with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them…. and home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all…

Any movement on this project is good news, but in order for this to be a huge success, I think Fox needs to make sure all the horror and drama of the book makes it to screen.
