I understand some of our readers are upset over the canceling of REBELS and Freedom Fighters, but on the plus side, the company was nice enough to cancel Batman Confidential AND the craptacular Azrael series.. Oh, you didn’t see the March solicitations?

I’m the most upset over JSA All-Stars and Doom Patrol as well. All-Stars felt sort of classic in an odd kinda sorta way. Doom Patrol had the great Ambush Bug.
Dammit, Doom Patrol was the book I enjoyed reading the most every month! Giffen should’ve pretended that it was a Batman tie-in to snag some extra sales. Worse, this awesome series dies, yet Titans staggers around in a drunken stupor month after month… I know I shouldn’t be angry by now by how dim the market is, but it can’t be helped.
I hate to admit it, but, starting this month, I dropped Doom Patrol, Freedom Fighters and REBELS. I was simply having a harder and harder time getting through each of them every month.
Palmiotti and Gray are one of my favorite writing teams and they seemed to have some pretty big ideas for Freedom Fighters, but I feel the art team fell very short.
I used to pick up REBELS every month just to see what Vril Dox would pull next, but the series just seems to be meandering. Some story arcs took more issues than they should have. I think I finally decided to say goodbye when Starro showed up again so soon.
Doom Patrol was the hardest to let go. I like Giffen’s writing very much. The humor in the book was always a draw. I had a terrible time caring about the whole Oolong Island thing and the support cast. I may come back to the title and ride the remaining few titles to the end.
I never read All-Stars. I haven’t read Outsiders in some time.
I dropped JSA All Stars 2 months ago…
It was just too bad for me. Glad to hear someone saw the light and killed this stincker…
This is a major bummer….I liked reading all these books. It was something different besides Batman and Gree Lantern. They may have canceled Confidential, but in it’s place 200 Batman books have sprung up. I especially loved Doom Patrol, and agree with Ocho, Giffen was really good on it! I was just excited too that everything at 2.99, I was going to endulge myself in DC. Now, I am not sure there is much else I want to buy from them, 2.99 or not. I will stick with Legion, but I have a feeling my heart will be broken with them dumping that soon as well.
Noooo! R.E.B.E.L.S.! Of course, it hasn’t been good since Starro died. Or whatever. Still disappointed that version of Starro didn’t show up in “Brave and the Bold”
The only selling point of Doom Patrol, for me, was those sweet Metal Men backups. Where’s their series?
I’m currently reading three of these titles: Freedom Fighters, Doom Patrol, and R.E.B.E.L.S. Freedom Fighters being my favorite book out right now. This sucks. There goes a sizable chunk of my pull list.
When is DC gonna learn to just leave the Doom Patrol where it is. Let it lie and rot where it lands. It never works. Stop wasting time and money on something that never reaches fruition.
Well there goes DC it’s a wonder since they overdo the main Justice League Members: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, etc. I haven’t had the interest to buy and then read these various titles. There’s nothing that they’ve come up with so far that gets my interests.. When they can Jonah Hex I will be officially off of both DC’s and Marvel’s autopulls through Diamond Previews. R.E.B.E.L.S was getting interesting, O well……
I was really into The Outsiders from the point before the Five-Of-A-Kind, during that and after it went to Batman and the Outsiders, but that all ended the very moment that Dan Didio took over and changed the entire tone of the book in one issue. Everything went completely to shit in the span of well really, about 6 pages. I hated that book so much I was flabbergasted at what was going on. It was only when I realized the writing duties had changed to someone new that I figured out what was going on. I dropped the book two issues in to Didio’s run, and I’d not have bought that second issue if I hadn’t already had my LCS pull it for me.
