After writing the Avengers for so long, Brian Michael Bendis is taking on the X-Men. So far, it has proven to be the go to X-book for new and old fans alike. The latest issue looks to be a clash between the past and present X-Men. Does it deliver? Major Spoilers has your review.
They are all heroes who had, or have, their own individual titles: Red Hulk, Punisher, Deadpool, Elektra, and Venom. Formed by General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, his team of Thunderbolts is charged with “cutting out evil like a cancer.” Can this group of loners fall in line while sharing the same red and black color scheme?
Or – “I Love How This Book Feels Like A Lost Silver Age Marvel Comic…” No matter what you think about Mike Allred (and he is, apparently, more controversial than I thought as a penciler) the idea behind this book is kinda delightful. The hand-picked backup concept gives credence to the idea that a group of second-tier heroes (and one dilettante) could stand in for the Fantastic Four, and Fractions’s character work made issue #1 a must-read for me. What’s in store for the FF in #2, and will the original Four return on time? Your Major Spoilers review awaits!

Or – “The Continuing Adventures Of Hawk-Guy!” With most of Marvel’s titles coming out more often than just once per month, it’s getting a bit difficult to keep up with everything going on. I still haven’t read even a single issue of Indestructible Hulk, and I’ve only skimmed #1 of the new Captain America series, but I unequivocally will NOT let myself fall behind on this book, Marvel’s best ongoing series in several years. Or – “These Days, Three Years Is A Pretty Impressive Run…” On a recent Major Spoilers Podcast, we attempted to address the clusterschmozz that is the history of X-Men villain Apocalypse. It would seem that writer Rick Remender had a similar idea a couple of years ago, dealing with the return of ol’ Pocky to the mainstream 616 universe and with it the formation of an underground team that Wolverine hand-picked to be capable of the kind of lethal solution that Apocalypse would warrant. Now, Uncanny X-Force has run its course, but there are still a few loose ends left…
