If you thought guest appearances by President Barack Obama in comics were done, guess again. Image Comics is getting into the act again as the President makes his first superhero-related initiative in Youngblood #8, written and illustrated by Rob Liefeld. “Obama re-instating the YOUNGBLOOD program with his picks is a natural, with SAVAGE DRAGON having featured Obama already,” Liefeld told Comic Book Resources. “And with YOUNGBLOOD having featured George H. Bush in its past as well as a Saddam Hussein styled guy and YOUNGBLOOD featured alongside Dan Quayle in WILDC.A.Ts and Bill Clinton in SUPREME, Image has a long history…
HitFix has some brand new issues from the upcoming adaptation of Mark Millar’s Kick-Ass comic that he wrote for Marvel.
Doctor Who Executive Producer and Head Writer Russell T. Davies to Doctor Who magazine that there will be two new alien races introduced in the Planet of the Dead special. “After the events of Journey’s End and The Next Doctor I think it’s time to get away from the past and have an adventure with lots of new elements. And lots of fun too! “The next Special should be a nice antidote to Christmas, with a bit of sunshine if we’re lucky. And with not one but two alien races that you’ve never seen before.” I finally had the chance…
Yesterday was another banner day for Marvel as non-comic readers lined up to get their mitts on the Obama variant cover to Amazing Spider-Man #583. This was a limited variant, and some stores jacked up prices, which didn’t make too many people happy – including one ass of a store clerk. What of other reactions? Erik Larsen isn’t too happy over Marvel stealing his idea. As far as Marvel goes– I can’t help but feel very betrayed. They duplicated the incentive cover–and preempted my upcoming one–and even used the “terrorist fist jab.†Clearly those in the “house of ideas†looked…

It’s certainly a possibility as Variety is reporting Jon Favreau is casting his eyes toward Emily Blunt to play the Black Widow in the upcoming Iron Man 2 film. Emily Blunt has emerged as the frontrunner to play Natasha Romanoff in the “Iron Man” sequel. She’s a Soviet superspy who doubles as Black Widow, a beauty in a skintight black costume enhanced by high-tech weaponry. She’s done some comedy and a few big dramas (Charlie Wilson’s War, The Jane Austen Book Club), and will appear in the upcoming Wolf Man movie from Universal. Marvel has issued a firm “no comment”…
The anthology series from Boom! Studios takes a bit of a twist this issue with three tales meant to astound and amuse, but all feature a world affected by Cthulhu and the other gods of the old age.
