3) SUPERNOVA
Arriving during the events of ‘52’, this hero attempted to fill the void left by Superman’s temporary absence thanks to losing his powers in battle with Superboy-Prime. His presence annoyed Booster Gold, who was likewise trying to cover for the missing Man of Steel, leading to friction between the two heroes until Booster made a heroic sacrifice to save Metropolis from a nuclear explosion…
…or so it seemed. The whole thing was a ruse, as Supernova was himself Booster Gold, having traveled several weeks back in time to fake his own death and figure out what was wrong with robot sidekick Skeets. (Since Booster hails from the 25th Century anyway, Supernova is actually a twofer!)
