As you know, Major Spoilers isn’t big on reporting rumors just to get eyeballs to pages in an attempt to boost numbers. However, when it comes to Nikki Finke, I’m more inclined to believe her sources than any other. With her new website launch, she’s dropped a bomb that should squash any rumors that Warner Bros. and DC are dragging their superhero movie feet.
According to the website, Warner Bros. is set to announce not two, but eight movies to release over the next four years.
May 2016 – Batman v Superman
July 2016 – Shazam
Xmas 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2
That’s quite the lineup and very ambitious if true. According to Finke, the reason for the big delay is the WB is busy finalizing contracts and schedules for all of the actors involved. Seeing Shazam, Wonder Woman, Flash, and a freakin’ team-up movie it sounds like Warner Bros. has their work cut out for them, and fans have something to look forward to.
Now the big question – Do you believe it? Finke has tagged this as a San Diego Comic Con announcement, so we only have a month to go to see how it plays out.

Shazam AND Sandman… that’s interesting.
And no Aquaman, that’s a bummer.
At least not stand alone, but I think that he, Martian Manhunter and Cyborg will appear as supporting characters or team members in the movies of the other characters.
Man Of Steel 2 in 2018..looks like they’ve dropped the pretence regarding Bat V Supes, it’ll be a JL part 1 or 0.
Kind of my thought. Hopefully that Wonder Woman movie will get off the ground. Really hoping for an Aquaman movie (be it King Arthur (some pun intended) underwater and your set.)
Sandman needs a really fine hand to craft it though.
Sandman should have been a HBO, AMC or FX show.
Flash & Green Lantern could be a great action-buddy-comidy. It could be like those old JLA comics with Blue Beetle and Booster Gold.
Also Shazam could be interesting.
Why Sandman though? Also if they are going to have a Shazam movie a month after Batman VIII shouldn’t we be hearing about it by now?
Sandman is a pet project of Joseph Gordon Levitt I think, it won’t tie in a whole-lot with the rest of the stuff.
I assume the Shazam thing will be much a smaller project than “Batman VIII” so it makes sense we haven’t heard much yet.
The versus movie is a much bigger undertaking and the hype train started very early because they expect Avengers type profits.
