If you can’t get enough Invincible, check out Robert Kirkman’s Capes Volume One: Punching the Clock. “While I’ve got my own personal sandbox of super-toys in Invincible, I ended up creating too many to fit in the box,” Kirkman explained. “The page of CAPES includes its own mammoth cast with their own personal dramas that deserved their own spotlight as opposed to the background of someone else’s book. I love this genre too much to limit it to just one title!” Sounds good to us Robert! Capes tells the story of Heroes on payroll who must punch the clock, take…

12 Gauge comics dropped a quick note to remind us that its new series Armory Wars by Claudio Sanchez. Or – “Sometimes It’s So Good To See An Old Friend, You Don’t Notice That He’s Crazy…” Mike Allred is one of those creators where even the people who don’t enjoy his art don’t say it’s bad, they say they don’t “get it.”  The stylization and animation influences in his drawing can be off-putting to some readers (Hi, Tom!) but the same can be said of Frank Miller’s Sin City work, which draws on many of the same influences (film noir, Hong Kong action movies, ultra-violence and movie romance) but in a completely different way.  I may be the first person…

What happens when you mix one part Exorcist with another part David Lynch? You’ll find out in August when Image Comics and Rick Remender release a four issue ghost story called Sorrow. In a prepared statement Remender said, “I’ve been fascinated with the idea of possession since childhood. There is nothing more terrifying than the idea of dark, disembodied spirits creeping in and taking us over. Co-writer Seth Peck and I wrote this with the idea that gore is the least interesting aspect of Horror stories– true horror is psychological, not simply bloody.” For a sneak peek and more info…

It was just under a year ago when I got my hands on the first issue of Meltdown by David B. Schwartz and Sean Wang. I was blown away by the story and art, giving it a solid five stars and a place in The Major Spoilers Best of 2006 list. David sent me an email, letting me know the trade paperback is set for release on July 5. “We’ve got the full 96 pages of story that were in issues one and two,” says Schwartz, “but there’s gonna be a lot more than that. We’re really thinking of this…
