Or – “Kryptonian Powers And Mental Issues? That’ll Work Out…” Connor Kent’s return from the dead has not been without it’s complications. Last issue, we saw his attempts to get back to normal and figure out the Superman side of his genetic makeup. Problem is, he’s also trying to figure out his other genetic donor, one Lex Luthor. Kon-El is headed down a slippery slope, and the return of Cassandra Sandsmark to his life ain’t gonna make things any less confusing…

Two movies, an animated series, and a plethora of games spread out over 25 years would lead one to believe that the Ghostbusters franchise is healthy and strong. There’s a third movie in the works, and the silver anniversary is upon us, and interest in the property is once again at a high point. With the release of Ghostbusters: Displaced Aggression #1, IDW Publishing once again taps into a popular intellectual property and delivers a story that attempts to reignite the ectoplasm fever in the four color world.
Or – “Banshee, Debauchee, Back-Breaker, Immortal, Beast-Man, and Sharpshooter…”  Can’t you just hear Dungeon-Master intoning their names and giving them each their magical weapons so that they can fight Venger? No? Just me? Bygones…
All during the month of August, we where introduced to the newly leased MLJ/Red Circle/Archie superheroes through a series of one-shot issues that all tied together to form a loose mini-series called The Red Circle. The Hangman, Inferno, The Web, and The Shield where all introduced into the DC continuity, to varying degrees of success. Now, after a skip-week, we have the first issue of the initial ongoing series based on those issues in the form of The Shield #1. Does the Shield shine brighter in his own series than he did in his one-shot? Does his back-up story partner…
In this issue: DC used to make bad Batman and Superman films? Let’s hope DC Entertainment does a better job of helping us part with our money, Poe #3, The Incredible Amadeus Cho, and Dark Avengers: Uncanny X-Men: Exodus: The Colon Saga: Final?: Plus Batman goes wacky-in-the-wickey-woo. Yes more Bat-S-Crazy than normal. http://media.libsyn.com/media/majorspoilers/majorspoilers_135.mp3 Direct Download Subscribe via iTunes RSS Feed Podcast Alley Show Notes after the Jump!
When the screaming starts, hit the kill switch Of the three Atomic Robo story arcs we’ve been presented with so far, this one has been the one to really warp your mind to the point where you had better understand a little about theoretical physics, or know all the intricacies of Back to the Future 1, 2, and 3, plus the animated series, and that ride at Universal Studios in order to keep your sanity. It helps of course that the creators inject their likeness into the story to really tie it together nicely.
Is there life on Earth and does that mythical place even exist at all? Well both those extremely important questions are answered after Troy and Dillon discover the Voyager probe floating in space and take it to Dr Zee for analysis. The path to the promised land is now clear and although Adama is considering a completely different path, the rest of the governing council decide that the not inconsiderable risk is worth taking. However nobody bothered to inform NORAD that the Galactica was on its way and the Presidents response is both swift and deadly.
Or – “More Colons Than Your Average Proctologist…” One of the only missteps of the whole Dark Reign crossover, for me, has been the characterization of Clint Barton, the hero now known as Ronin. As Hawkeye, he was willing to leave his beloved wife over the implication that she even ALLOWED someone to die, much less committed murder, and now he’s willing to kill Norman Osborn to prove a point? It’s an odd change of characterization for me, which makes the whole thing questionable. What’s the Marvel equivalent of a Tom Welling Prime punch?Â

With all the news that has been going on with Disney buying Marvel Comics, I thought that it would be nice to take a look at some of the Disney books that have been put out recently by Boom! Kids, who currently hold the license for several Disney and Pixar Books. With Victoria recently reviewing the first issue of Monster’s Inc, and Stephen having reviewed the first issue of The Incredibles: Family Matters, I thought that I would take the time to review Finding Nemo: Reef Rescue #3, which was release September 10th at comic stores everywhere. Did the issue…
At the recent Wizard World Philadelphia convention (which took place this past June) there was a particular cosplayer getting an enormous amount of attention and upon laying eyes on him, it was easy to see why. With his tailored purple suit, white makeup and sly grin it looked as if The Joker had sprung to life from Batman: The Animated Series. It’s easy to say that he was a big hit among those attending the con to the point that people were lining up and taking turns to be photographed with him. Fast forward three months later and I stumbled…
Mark’s return to the Ultimates was well trailed by the Marvel publicity department and everyone was expecting big things from the titles original scribe. Well nobody can say that he has run out of ideas in his time away from his onetime signature book because we are only two issues into the new run and already the direction this comic is going to take is starting to become clear. It’s all about close family members and their unlimited capacity to cause emotional and physical harm.
What happens when Matthew and Stephen get on a jag and start spouting their catch-phrases just one too many times? More is revealed in this week’s installment of the Major Spoilers Adventures.
