The Detroit News is still fanning the speculation that Aquaman may be resurrected from the depths of Davey Jones’ Locker. Fan and blog sites (like Major Spoilers) have been pushing the idea that the success of Aquaman on iTunes should convince the networks to reconsider the show. The Spirited Life website (Will Eisner: A Spirited Life Interview Series) has a fascinating interview with Darwyn Cooke on his upcoming DC The Spirit and the upcoming Spirit/Batman one-shot.  If you haven’t seen Cooke’s work before then you are missing out.  He worked on Batman the Animated Series, Justice League and more on the television side.  His New Frontier series for DC will be the first direct to DVD movie produced.  I’m super excited to see a new Spirit monthly title and looking forward to seeing how Batman and The Spirit interact in the one-shot. The WB has confirmed that Heath Ledger will be playing the role of The Joker in the next Batman film. The company also reports that the title of the next bat-flick will be The Dark Knight. Christian Bale will reprise his role as Batman, with Christopher Nolan directing. The film is expected to begin shooting in early 2007. Complete press release follows
