Ever wondered what the world of Futurama would look like if it were real? Alexey Zakharov created this 3D animation of the 31st century.
Browsing: Art Appreciation Moment of the Day
The Batgirl art continues to pour over Twitter, and it looks like the costume change is the best thing DC Comics has done in several years. 3D artist Carlos Ortega Elizalde took time to whip up his take on the new look.
After yesterday’s announcement of the new creative team on Batgirl, and the reveal of an awesome costume redesign, the Twitterverse was flooded with other artists and their take on the character and her new duds. I especially like this piece by Jake Castorena, a storyboard artist at WB Animation.
I have a hankering for Dungeons and Dragons inspired art today, and Kevin Bolk delivers with his take on the ’80s animated television series.
Going down the rabbit hole that is DeviantArt usually lands me in strange places, sometimes I have to back out of the page slowly, other times I find things that are truly interesting. Today it is the Korean artist Penett.
Long time friend of Major Spoilers, and artist extrordinaire, Thomas Perkins pops in today’s Art Appreciation Moment of the Day. This guy gets it – his art is always fun and rooted in things you know, but are just a bit different — like this rooftop stakeout.
Most of the time, the Art Appreciation Moment of the Day features original art, but today I’m deviating a little bit by not using a photo from DeviantArt, but instead an altered photo by Frank Celaya that shows the Legion of Super-Heroes from a long, long time ago.
I’ve never really been a fan of Pixie, but in the hands of Dave Hoover, there’s something about the character that makes me want to see her zipping around the comic page.
I love discovering new artists (and sometimes rediscovering artists I had forgotten about), and seeing their take on popular characters. Interest in Batgirl seems to be at an all time high — which may be because I follow Gail Simone on Twitter and on her Tumblr feed. In any case, today we have a dynamic look at Batgirl as drawn by Brianne Drouhard.
I should just create a refeed of everything Francesco Francavilla does – he’s an art machine. There isn’t a day that goes by that he isn’t sharing some sketch or random piece of art he’s whipped up (surprisingly no Critical Hit art). Today it’s Batman and Gordon from his work at the Special Edition NYC event a couple of weekends ago.
Daredevil! Chris Samnee! Art Appreciation Moment of the Day!
The graphic design studio La Boca makes the Art Appreciation Moment of the Day with its take on the classic movie, “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.”
Remember Bunny Girl? I sure do, and though I haven’t read Batman in forever, I often wonder what she was all about. The same idea has crossed Stjepan Sejic’s mind, too. Known for his work on Witchblade, it’s interesting to see his style applied to Batman.
I dig on Chris Samnee’s work, and today I found this inked version of Daredevil #24 that needs to be shared.
