According to Variety Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris have decided not to return to write the sequel to the Superman Returns movie.  Opted not to return, or asked not to return?  Considering the negative criticism the film received from movie goers, this sounds like a great PR stunt to let them bow out gracefully.
