DC Comics has announced that the seventh and final issue of Final Crisis will include an additional seven pages, without increasing the cost to its customers. In this issue, the saga concludes with an apocalyptic battle for the soul of humanity that must be seen to be believed! Can the heroes of 52 Earths save the multiverse? And is the only way to save the multiverse to change it forever? The 48-page issue is still scheduled to arrive on January 28, 2009, for $3.99. via DC Comics
This week, Hexed #1 arrives in stores from Boom! Studios, and if you need a little extra push to pick it up, the company is posting the entire issue online for free. Here’s Editor-In-Chief Mark Waid to explain how it works. What’s this about the 5 for 500? And what is the justification for posting online for free the same day it releases in stores? Apparently, Marvel is giving its assistant editors a chance to shine in April with the Marvel Assistant-Sized Spectacular #1. It’s not just a single issue, as the fun(?), action (?), adventure (?), heck whatever their planning, spills into a second issue also released in April. Disney has announced Garrett Hedlund will star as the lead character in the update to the 1982 film Tron. Hedlund has appeared in Troy, Friday Night Lights, Four Brothers, Eragon, and Georgia Rule. Hedlund will play the lead, a man who finds himself pulled into the world of a computer and retracing the steps of a character from the original movie named Kevin Flynn. Hedlund joins Olivia Wilde, Beau Garrett, and Jeff Bridges, who is reprising his role as Flynn. via THR
