When he was in college, Jeff Smith created the comic strip series Thorn, which was the proto-type for what would become Bone. While those newspaper strips have been collected in bits in pieces, the complete Thorn collection has never been offered – until now.
“I confess I was a hard sell at first,” says cartoonist Smith, “But when I read them for the first time in over 40 years, I was surprised to find I enjoyed them! It’s fun to see these stories and know they eventually evolved into BONE.”
Jeff Smith’s Boneville will release THORN: The Complete College Strips later this spring.
