I consider myself very lucky for a number of reasons, one of which is being precisely the right age to have enjoyed the Dawn of Video Gaming. During my preteen years, arcades sprouted up everywhere, and even the most staid of grocery stores made room for a Robotron: 2084 or Asteroids console. One of my fave-raves, though, was Gorf, a game that had multiple levels and modes of play (although several of those suspiciously resembled other video game worlds) as well as a trademark electronic speech box that allowed the game to taunt the player as she lost her quarters. I’ve always wanted to see a return of that game in a new fully-rendered updated form, if only to see what the robots sound like now, which in turn begs a query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced either “GAH-luh-guh” or “Guh-LAY-guh”) warns that you will meet a Gorfian doom, asking: What video game (of ANY vintage) do you most want to see re-released/revamped for modern audiences?

Qbert as a First Person Shooter perspective game where certain tile patterns unlock secret levels.
I’d love to see Joust, but now that I think about it, Pitfall would probably be a good one to bring back.
That’s tough, because I think those old ones are just fine as is. Maybe NES Batman, still side scrolling action platformer with sprite graphics, but full new game with modern design. Like they did to Castlevania, but just renamed it Bloodstained and it became a huge kickstarter hit.
Yeah, that’s kind of where I am too. All the old sprite stuff I kind of like it the way it is.
Maybe I’d like a re-make of the original Knights of the Old Republic. I’ve tried to go back to it to play it again in recent years and it just feels a little too dated.
