Recently, I realized how many of my favorite shows have the main characters hanging out in a bar, something I haven’t done since I left Lincoln, Kansas when I was eighteen years old. (Don’t do the math on any of that, it won’t come out well.) Aside from the concerns of alcohol abuse, though, many examples of the fictional bar seem like really wonderful places, the kind of joint where everybody knows your name, if you will. Moe’s even has the added amusement of that random prank caller, which is entertaining for everybody but Moe, leading to today’s $2 cover charge query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) stresses that, for the purposes of today’s query, you will not have to be of legal age or partake in any adult beverages, just spending wacky time with your friends and Norm, asking: Which fictional bar would you most enjoy making your hangout?

I wanted to say Chalmun’s Spaceport Cantina (the cantina where Luke and Obi-Wan met Han and Chewie), but they don’t serve droids there and I can’t give my business to such a speciesist establishment.
I’m actually torn between two:
The Captain’s Table, a bar that exists outside of normal time and space (and doesn’t always look the same, either) in the Star Trek Expanded Universe and allows beings of various species and eras to mingle. It would be pretty cool to hang out and hear tales of adventure from beings commanding vessels ranging from sea ships to starships and so on from all across time and space.
The other is the Oblivion Bar from DC Comics, which also exists outside of normal time and space in a pocket dimension.
I just noticed that ironically my top contenders were a bar where they don’t serve droids and the other one is almost exclusively serving droids, owned by a droid.
This is a tough one. First thing that came to my mind is Spaceport Cantina, but there are other strong contenders too, like Blurr’s bar, Maccadam’s Old Oil House, originally in Iacon city, Cybertron, now located in Metroplex’s city mode. Think about it, bar with giant robots located inside even bigger giant robot.
The original Callahan’s Crosstime Saloon in Up State New York.
A colorful cast of characters with good jam sessions and story contests.
