Trying something a bit different this week, as I finally got around to opening the latest Batman Black and White Statue from DC Direct. The latest is based on the work by Frank Quitely, and it is quite wonderful. So much so that I had to take it out in the wild to see what it looked like in the real world.
I’ve been collecting the Batman Black and White statues from the beginning, and this one will sit next to my other favorites. A tad expensive at $80.00, but well worth it if you like Frank Quitely’s style.

GAH! SO PURTY! Frank Quitely stands among my favorite artists, Batman or otherwise.
Love it! Want one!
not a collector of statues but that is one beautiful statue
Nice review, I hope this becomes a thing, statues, action figures and other collectible stuff too.
Just got mine delivered last night. Looks awesome! Seems a bit smaller/lighter than the others I have, but definitely well crafted.
Thanks for the idea of contrasting these beauties against some colour. Really makes them pop.
Now, you need to put an Alien and Predator statue flanking him. I love the statue. I wish they weren’t always so expensive and I wish I wasn’t terrified that the 2 year old wouldn’t break it if I could afford it. He loves Batman and Joker, and not surprisingly considering his father he loves Plastic Man. I bought a clay Terracotta warrior statue back in college and my friends kept messing with it and breaking it’s head off and legs off and I had to constantly glue him back together, that is until I returned from dinner one night to find my warrior hanging from my bookshelf on a noose made out of my PS2 controller cord with a suicide note taped to him in some handwriting that mysteriously looked a helluva lot like my roommates. I’ve been a little wary of having any kind of valuable statue around.
Awesome…I must get one!!! Nice pics by the way.
