Civil War II continues to stumble on its release dates, but that hasn’t stopped Marvel from announcing an eighth issue for the series.
Civil War II #5 was scheduled to arrive this week, but has been pushed to September 14th, with Civil War II now pushed to October 5th. While it looks like issue #7 is still on track for an October 19th, release, don’t be surprised if that date gets pushed several weeks.
The reason for the delay seems to be with artist David Marquez, who recently had a newborn added to his family. Every parent knows what happens when a newborn arrives, so it is understandable that parenting duties can push regular work to the side. Still, adding an eighth issue to the schedule can’t help the event schedule.
Will the heroes of the Marvel Universe wield the power of “predictive justice” to change the future or battle to protect tomorrow? The additional issue of Civil War II will bring the explosive event to its powerful conclusion, but with an Inhuman at the center of the conflict with the ability to see what’s to come, has the future already been foretold or can it be changed?
With issue #5 and #6 delays, it really makes us wonder if tie-in issues are also getting bumped, or if Marvel will pull a Secret Wars II and just let everything spill out when it comes out.
Civil War II #8 by Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez is set to arrive “this fall.”

I’m predicting the Final Vision will be of languishing sales… followed by another crossover event!
Seriously?! Here we go again. Secret Wars all over again. I have 10 bucks riding that the date of the final issue and the eighth issue are not the last change they make to this event. Who wants some of this action? Any suckers… umm I mean takers?
