If the Doctor Strange Dice Masters Team Packs and the upcoming Marvel Dice Masters Civil War announcements weren’t enough for you, WizKids is getting in on the Deadpool action with the announcement of yet another set.
In October, WizKids will release Marvel Dice Masters: Deadpool expansion that will feature Deadpool and crew, as well as Wolverine, X-23, Mister Sinister, and will introduce the Inhumans to the Dice Masters universe. According to a report on ICv2, there will be over 30 new characters introduced in the complete set.
Currently, WizKids has released Avengers vs. X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Age of Ultron, and The Amazing Spider-Man. The Amazing Spider-Man set came out two months ago, and we just received the DC Comics World’s Finest Dice Master set last month. Right now it appears that WizKids is releasing new sets and expansions on the average of one every other month. This begs the question, “Is WizKids burning through the property too quickly?” With the rush to get as many of these sets into consumers hands, will they eventually run out of solid themes and characters, due to a flood in the market? Will this agressive schedule cause fans to lose interest in upcoming releases? In the short term, I would say, “No,” but in the next year or so, there might be a decline.
If you want to get a near complete collection, my suggestion would be to get at least two gravity feeds (around $75 each). Rob and I have done some testing on this, and it is actually cheaper to buy a couple of gravity feeds instead of purchasing a bunch of foil packs at 99-cents each. In the end you end up getting 99% of the complete collection (those ultrarares are near impossible to get), and enough extra dice and cards to trade for the one or two cards/dice you still need.
Hopefully WizKids will send us a set of these to review, but if not, I expect we’ll have more Dice Masters action on Major Spoilers in the near future.
