I’m up for a daleks vs. weeping angels fight.
Oh cool. It looks like it’s the angels from “Blink.” That was one of my favorite Dr. Who episodes.
Y’know what would be “funny”, in that sort of “make everybody scream and moan” way? If the TARDIS phone-box that we’ve all grown to know and love was replaced by a cellular TARDIS.
(Screams and moans) Nooooooooooo!!!!!! You can’t trifle with the damn TARDIS!!!! However, it did look like it was going to be a bit messy to fix after the last show.
My daughter (yes, I have a 20 something daughter who likes Dr. Who) was also disappointed that this Doctor wasn’t a ginger, either.
The more images I see, the more excited I get. Is it just me or have they gone back to the original Dalek colors?
I thought blink was very good, so good in fact that I’m dreading the possibility of those critters become recurring villains.
So anyone else notice anything weird with the left clip on his suspenders?
Is it just me or can I file that under “Photoshop Fail.”
I’m still really excited for the new season, though.
nothing weird about it, as he’s twisted a bit so his left strap is pulling, while the right strap (your left) has no tension on it. Lean to your right and you’ll see your shirt is pulled taut on the left, and scrunched up on the right.
I don’t get how that would be a “photoshop fail!” irregardless?
I think what he might be saying is that looking at his left suspender, our right, the metal clip looks like it’s right beside the belt loop on his pants and the suspender proper looks like it’s not connected to it and like an inch or two to the right (our view). That’s what I got from it.
It looks like the metal clip is supposed to be about an inch over to his left (our right).
His head is oddly shaped, but she’s pretty cute. Although, I’m always a sucker for Rose Tyler. I don’t mean anything against this new guy, but I’d much rather have David Tennant as the Doctor for much much longer. I know there are probably Tom Baker fans or Christopher Eccleston, maybe even a Jon Pertwee fan thrown into the mix for flavor, but I don’t know what it was about David Tennant that just resonated with me. Maybe it’s because he was the Doctor when I first started watching the show so he IS Doctor Who for me, just the same way that Mike Nelson will always be my favorite Gizmonics Laboratory test subject. I am very happy that a show as brilliant as Doctor Who built in the regeneration concept so that the show could go on, but there’s always going to be a bit of a mourning period for me at the passing of a brilliant characterization and hopefully I will be able to embrace a completely new take on such a great Icon.
Damascus,
there is always a mourning period for the Doctor, even though he is still alive. I have driven my wife crazy for the better part of the last year and a half watching almost every Doctor Who episode available on Netflix and other sources.
I began with Doctor #1 and have three stories left with 7 as of this writing.
As I try to watch everything in order, I always get that feeling when I am done watching a Doctor and the new one steps forth.
It is wonderful that a series can suck you in like this and continue doing it time after time. Sometimes it feels like going from one batch of heroin to another.
Yeah Damascus, that was one plot idea I kinda wish Joss Whedon had pursued with Buffy – letting new slayers take over. He sort of did, but it’s way different.
One of my favorite things has been, that it seemed to me, the women were portrayed as much brighter than in many series. I don’t recall if any Time-Lords were women though, were there? I mean just being Gallifreyan doesn’t make you one.
There were actually a handful of female Time Lords or Ladies. Susan, the first Time Lord’s granddaughter, The Rani, Lady Flavia, Lady Thalia, The Inquisitor, Rodan and possibly Romana from what I was able to gather.

In the old school, there were a number of Time Lady characters, including Romanadvoratrelundar and The Rani, and there was one HUMONGOUS plot point during The End of Time involving what was seemingly a female Time Lord. Depending on your definition, Susan Foreman might also count.
